2009/2010 Mini Awards.

On Sunday 9^th May 2010 Crowborough RFC held its annual Mini Section Awards. Stephen Hart, Chair of Mini Section and Under 8 Head Coach said “this is a day when we celebrate the success of the Mini Section and reward the individuals and teams who have performed well over the past season”. The awards given out include Player of the Year, Most Improved Player and a number of special awards. The idea is not just to award trophies to the most skilled players but also to players who have a fabulous commitment to their Rugby or had an impact on a team’s performance. We also gave 6 players to the Under 12’s for their Commitment as they had played at the club from the Under 6, these were;

Sam Kisbee

Zeb Kisbee

Ollie Clinch

Ed Higgins

Charlie Martin

Liberty McCarthy

The event was ended with the presentation of the Andy Findlater Cup, for the most successful team on tournaments, being presented by Simon Davis (Club Chairman) to the Under 8’s. Simon said “The most successful team, by far, within the Mini section this year are the under 8’s.

They have won the following, Hastings (Joint Winners), East Sussex County Champions, Crowborough `B` Festival Winners, Sussex Champions, Tunbridge Wells `B` Festival runners up and Uckfield Festival winners with ease”. Stephen Hart added “ My Under 8’s have performed very well this year and have developed in to a magnificent team. The fact that the club has not been Sussex Champions at any Mini age group for over 10 years is a testament to this, the coaches, parents and the club are tremendously proud of them”.Stephen also commented that “the Mini Section is the life blood of any club, it feeds players in to the Junior Section and then on to the Adults; I am delighted to say that this section is developing well and is being very successful”. Special Coach's Award - Alex Mason

Most Improved Player of the Year Award - Jack Smith

Special Coach's Award - William Bath

Player of the Year - Elliott Dryden

Under 11's :

Best Newcommer Award - Edward Watson

Most Improved Player of the Year Award - Thomas Norman

Special Coach's Award - Angus Main

Player of the Year - Thomas Gibb

Under 12's :

The Committment Award - is Awarded to the players that have come through the club from Under 6 to Under 12.

Under 8's winners of the Andy Findlater Cup, for the most successful team in tournaments 2009/10
