Kent & Sussex Courier Newspaper Sports Awards 2010.
The Rugby club is very proud to announce that we have three nominees in three categories out of the five being awarded.
Sports Personality of the Year
Mark Rosier – ( Code no 210 ).
Mark is one of our Prop forward’s and has played for the Clubs First XV for more than 400 times. He was first team Captain for three seasons and is widely respected by teammates and opponents. Rosier or Rosie as he is universally known shows no signs of retiring from Rugby and is widely expected to reach over 500 appearances for the Club.
Young Sports Personality of the Year
Tom Nicholl – ( Code no 402 )
Tom has played rugby at Crowborough since he was in the Mini section. He got selected for the Harlequins/England Elite Player Development Squad (EDPD) – a massive achievement for Tom as the standard is extremely high. Tom has impressed them with his dedication and talent and continues to play at the Club, when the Harlequins commitments allow.
Young Team of the Year
Our Own Crowborough Under 9’s - (Code no 505)
The Under 8’s, who are now the Under 9’s, had a very successful 2010. They won the Hastings & Bexhill Festival again – for the third year in a row. They were also joint winners, with Sevenoaks (The Kent County Champions), in the Crowborough `A` Festival. They went on to win the East Sussex Festival, and qualified for the County Final’s at Pulborough which they went on to Win beating Chichester in the Final.
Stephen Hart, Has been training these lads since they were five or younger and he says they have gelled into a great team who all work together to enjoy their Rugby. They are an asset to the Club and the sport.
