Thursday 16th February - 10:45
Get your diaries out as its time to plan ahead.
Saturday 18th -
1st and 3rds away at Horsham. Two huge games for both sides. Get along and support them if you can.
Provisionally 2nds at Home to Midhurst - This has now been cancelled this evening !
THEN Saturday evening the club will be open for a senior section court; the honourable Phil Cooper presiding. The other Judge will hopefully be leading a good old fashioned CRFC sing song. So get back there as soon as you can.
Sunday sees mainly training for minis and juniors but Colts have a game, kick off 2pm. If you've not seen the Colts play yet you should. They are shaping into an excellent team.
Feb 25th will be the rearranged Uckfield clash followed by England v Wales. This will be huge.
March 3rd is Bromley at home. Get there early as this too is a MUST WIN game.
Apologies there will be no blog now until Friday 24th when I will review the England v Wales clash

Demolition of old clubhouse.
This has now been confirmed for week commencing 12th March. This is the earliest possible date based on a) ensuring we do not have an over-run and therefore have demolition equipment all around the place with the E Sussex mini festival on 11th March and b) for us to comply with all the relevant HSE timetables.
There will be a range of working parties prior to demolition to ensure nothing we want to keep is lost and also to ensure any assets remaining can be liquidated to our benefit.
The intention is to make the club off limits, certainly during the day for the duration of the work. More on this nearer the time.
The other key factor to consider is the old place has been used as a dumping ground for things we have no other home for. This means going forward storage will be at a premium so I am afraid tough decisions will need to be made about what can kept in the new clubhouse and what can't.
The next COMEDY NIGHT is planned for the same week as the demolition (Thursday 15th). This WILL GO AHEAD. Get the date in diary now and book early to avoid disappointment. Demand for tickets is already there.

For all our sakes I hope this weekend can be a normal rugby one. Training will go ahead tonight and there should be no problems with the pitches for Saturday. With it being half term the mini and junior sections may be below strength but lets get as many people up to the club this weekend as possible.
I see the WRU have removed the last barrier to Gatland being Lions coach in 2013. There really was no alternative I think.
Not much in the way of rugby news so I will turn my attention to the round ball game. A certain Mr Tevez is complaining that Mancini treated him like a dog. All can I say is "Dear Mr Self Opinionated Money Grabbing Tevez, for £200,000 A WEEK, please ask Mr Mancini to give me a call. He can treat me like a pig, rat, dog cross if he wants for that kind of money. Next time you are in Manchester why not a catch a bus and have a little tour around Moss Side and see how truly blessed you are." Some people just have no idea.
Suarez and that handshake. What was that all about. Yes it was wrong but SKY have a lot to answer for. With a 24 hour a day 365 (or this year 366) days a week Sports News channel to fill it is no wonder some things get blown out of proportion. I can see it today. The yellow banner and 'Breaking News: Crowborough RFC announce the pitch is clear of snow. No-one was available for comment so we have dispatched the SKY SPORTS chopper to the scene'
Live from Steel Cross, home of Crowborough RFC; 'yes the pitch is clear of snow but of more interest it is rumoured that Carlos Tevez has been spotted getting off a bus outside the ground. Why is unknown as yet but the Heckler Kock machine pistol looks ominous'

PS just read that Jonah Lomu needs another kidney transplant. Lets hope he gets sorted. A true giant of our great game
PPS Demolition update delayed. Watch this space.
Monday 13th February - 10:53
Finally the weather has risen above freezing and hopefully we'll get some rugby in this weekend. Horsham away is almost certainly going to be a league and cup double to avoid congestion as the season progresses to a close. Watch this space for confirmation.
I am pleased to report the 'fix' for the sound worked on Saturday and hopefully a permanent repair on the kit we have in place will be done on Friday.
What a farcical situation in Paris on Saturday night. The French union need an Ian Geering.
England showed some metal to come back to win. Italy are not the pushover of previous seasons and played some excellent rugby in the 1st half. Foden has to take the blame for the interception. Whilst England want to play expansively there are times when basic common sense should dictate the play. England played with determination and team spirit to gain a good win. Wins are important from which to build. Dowson was better. Farrell and Barritt were again sound and Hodgson played with assurity. Be interesting now Tuilagi and Flood are back. I'd go for Flood but Tuilagi is one dimensional.
Wales and Scotland served up another great game. The score flattered Wales but there were some passages of play that would have graced any ground, anywhere in the world. Priestland's late break was just superb. Halfpenny was excellent, as was Cuthbert. Having Jenkins and Lydiate back certainly bolstered the pack. Whilst Jonathan Davies gave serem y gem to Lydiate I though Ryan Jones was superb. The injury to North looks serious and he must be very doubtful for the England game. Sam is certain to be back however.
Easter planning is progressing. Montargis are keen to come over so this will be the centre piece of the weekend. Passy has agreed to be Master of Ceremonies for a good old fashioned CRFC sing song. Passy will do 'Leaning on a lamp post' by popular demand. More to follow
Tomorrow I will update you on demolition.
